A notice should include: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; the exact Field Honest URL and enough detail to locate the challenged material; your address, telephone number, and email; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, agent, or law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.

Our response

We review complete notices promptly and may remove or disable material, preserve relevant records, notify the contributor, and process a valid counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512. Repeat infringers may lose submission or access privileges in appropriate circumstances. Knowingly material misrepresentations may create liability under federal law.

Counter-notice

A person whose material was removed may submit a signed counter-notice identifying the material and former location; stating under penalty of perjury a good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification; providing name, address, and telephone number; and consenting to the appropriate federal district court’s jurisdiction and service of process. We may restore material as permitted by law unless the claimant timely reports a court action.
