Where stories come from
A story may come from our own experience, a friend or contributor who told us what happened, or a reader who submitted an account. First-person narration preserves that source perspective. The Field Hunter byline identifies a story shaped and published by the Field Honest desk; it is not a claim that one staff member lived every event.
What editing may change
We may correct grammar, tighten repetition, reorganize chronology, improve pacing, and rewrite passages in the Field Honest voice. With the source’s permission, we may use a pseudonym or change identifying details for privacy. We do not invent the central event, outcome, lesson, quotation, product use, catch, hunt, or field experience.
Evidence and sourcing
Time-sensitive legal, safety, wildlife, and public-land claims are checked against current official sources. Product testing is called field tested only when a documented physical evaluation occurred.
Commercial influence and corrections
Gifts, loans, sponsorships, and affiliate relationships are disclosed where relevant. Advertisers do not receive a guaranteed conclusion. Material errors are corrected with a plain-language explanation.
